Client Funds Accountant (ARCS)
Location – Isle of Man, Leeds, London or Dublin
Hybrid - 2 days per week (Dublin only)
12-month Fixed-Term Contract
We are looking for three Client Funds Accountants to join our Client Funds & Reconciliations teams. These teams are responsible for efficient control and management of ~$400m of customer cash, the safeguarding of which is an integral part of Flutter’s strategy.
At Flutter, we are embarking on an exceptionally ambitious global finance transformation programme over the next two years. There are roles available across two different teams, each focused on aligning all Client Funds reconciliation processes into one unified model utilising EPM Account Reconciliation Cloud Service (“ARCS”).
The roles involve developing a strong understanding of the Client Funds key control processes, building relationships across many departments, including Group Financial Control, Treasury, Global Revenue, Product and Data teams to ensure alignment and buy-in across all stakeholders. Flutter is a growing business, so there will be exposure to projects to integrate new products, payment methods and jurisdictions and the role will also play an integral role in working on key projects to integrate and align ways of working across the Flutter Group.
Each team has a slightly different remit…
EPM ARCS Team
Reporting into the EPM ARCS Lead, the role will be to support the Client Funds team during a critical migration project.
This role bridges finance operations and systems transformation, ensuring accurate reconciliation processes are transitioned from legacy systems to a unified platform.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Create specifications for the unified reconciliation process with validated requirements.
Produce system architecture diagrams, process flowcharts, and user guides.
Maintain accurate records of process changes and a centralised repository of all system documentation.
Collaborate with project stakeholders to establish timelines, milestones, and deliverables for the migration initiative.
Provide accounting expertise to inform system requirements and identify risk areas in the migration approach.
Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) activities, including test case development and results validation.
Coordinate with technical teams and finance stakeholders to resolve issues and keep the project on track.
Contribute to project status reporting and escalation management.
Process and validate large volumes of reconciliation data across payment channels and payment processors.
Perform data cleansing, mapping, and transformation activities to ensure data integrity throughout migration.
Reconcile legacy system data to the new unified platform, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Establish data quality controls and validation procedures to ensure accuracy at scale.
Review completed month-end reconciliations for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
Verify all transactions are properly classified, recorded, and reconciled before handover to BAU.
Identify and investigate reconciliation variances, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
Prepare handover documentation and training materials for the BAU team.
Serve as subject matter expert during transition to ensure continuity of controls.
Managing relationships across geographical locations, with many key stakeholders being situated in Dublin, London, the Isle of Man and Leeds.
Client Funds Team
Reporting into the Client Funds Manager, the role will be responsible for month end balance sheet accounting activities across multiple brands and currencies, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. You will play a lead role in supporting the delivery of the alignment and reconciliation project.
This is a strategic finance role blending hands-on reconciliation work with leading a major cloud-based system transformation, requiring both technical aptitude and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Lead transformation project workstreams, supporting the Client Funds Manager on delivery.
Work with internal data teams and third-party providers to design and deliver key reporting used for reconciliations.
Collaborate with finance and EPM technical specialists to gather business requirements for onboarding reconciliations into ARCS.
Run testing and support migration of reconciliations from legacy systems to ARCS.
Validate revenue data against third-party statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Design and document transaction mapping specifications and system integration logic.
Maintain accurate project planning records for senior leadership.
Support end-to-end cash reconciliation from customer deposit to balance sheet sign-off.
Maintain internal controls over balance sheet accounts and ensure regulatory compliance (GAAP, company policies).
Review and sign off monthly reconciliations and key controls.
Ensure process documentation is current and reflects actual business practices.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across Client Funds, Finance, and external partners.
Communicate material financial exceptions and liabilities to the Client Funds Manager.
Manage stakeholder relationships across Dublin, London, Isle of Man, and Leeds.
Identify and highlight potential risks in the financial control framework.
Strong accountancy experience in industry, ideally with a qualification.
Experience in Finance Projects or change/transformation initiatives is essential.
Strong understanding of SOx and GAAP principles and the associated financial reporting requirements.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Oracle).
Expertise in high volume reconciliations, with revenue to cash experience.
Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, combined with a proactive approach to work and a desire to progress.
A working knowledge of EPM ARCS would be advantageous, but is not essential
Ability to analyse and draw conclusions from large volumes of data and communicate and present results precisely.
Professional, combined with good time management, organisational and multi-tasking skills.
High level of attention to detail and trustworthiness due to sensitive nature of customer information.
Proactivity and innovation – capacity to take the initiative to identify improvements in process and assist management in implementation.
Articulate, with the ability to communicate both within the team and to members of the wider business in a concise manner.
