Bullfinch Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a high-growth social gaming business, delivering innovative, scalable products to a global player base, who are looking for a Commercial Analyst to join their team.

Role Overview

We are looking for a data-driven Commercial Analyst to join our growth team. In this role, you will be the bridge between our player behavior data and our financial performance. You will be responsible for tracking the efficiency of our player acquisition funnels, optimizing our spend, and providing the insights needed to scale our B2C gaming sites.

Key Responsibilities

● Performance Monitoring: Own the daily/weekly reporting on core KPIs including New Sign-ups, Daily Active Users (DAU), and Conversion Rates (Free-to-Paid).

● Marketing Efficiency: Analyse ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) and CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost) across various channels (Meta, Google, TikTok, Apple Search) to ensure we are hitting payback targets.

● Monetization Analysis: Track in-game purchase behaviour and economy health. Analyse ARPU (Average Revenue Per Daily Active User) and LTV (Lifetime Value) models to predict long-term profitability.

● Funnel Optimization: Identify friction points in the registration and first-purchase flow. Work with the Product team to run A/B tests aimed at increasing the "Player-to-Payer" ratio.

● Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist the Finance team in building revenue forecasts based on historical trends, seasonality, and planned marketing budgets.

● Competitive Benchmarking: Stay updated on social gaming trends and competitor monetization strategies to identify new commercial opportunities.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

● Experience: 2–4 years in an analytical role, preferably within Gaming, FinTech, or E-commerce.

● SQL Mastery: Ability to write complex queries to extract data from large-scale relational databases.

● Data Visualization: Advanced proficiency in Tableau, Looker, and/or Google Big Query to build automated, stakeholder-ready dashboards.

● Excel/Modelling: High-level modelling skills (cohort analysis, pivot tables, and financial modelling).

● Metric Literacy: A deep understanding of the relationship between:

LTV > CAC (Profitability)

ROAS (Marketing efficiency)

Retention (D1, D7, D30)

● Education: Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.

● AI-Augmented Workflow: Proficiency in leveraging AI-native development environments (e.g., Cursor) and Large Language Models (e.g., Claude 3.5) to accelerate SQL/Python scripting, automate data extraction, and perform complex commercial reasoning.

Soft Skills

● Commercial Acumen: You don't just see numbers; you see the business impact. You can translate "lower retention" into "lost revenue."

● Agility: Social gaming moves fast. You must be comfortable with shifting priorities and rapid experimentation.

● Communication: The ability to explain complex data trends to non-technical stakeholders (Marketing Managers, Creative Leads).
