We're looking for a motivated IT Engineer (Level 1) who is passionate about technology, enjoys solving operational challenges, and wants to build a strong foundation in platform operations and production support.
This is an entry-level engineering role where you'll gain hands-on experience supporting production environments, executing deployments, monitoring systems, and responding to incidents under the guidance of experienced engineers. You'll play an important role in maintaining platform stability and operational continuity while developing your technical and operational expertise.
What You'll Do
- Support deployment execution and system updates to production environments, following documented procedures and change management protocols.
- Monitor systems and platforms using dashboards and alerting tools to identify issues and maintain operational visibility.
- Participate in incident response activities, assisting with diagnosis and applying corrective actions under guidance.
- Investigate technical issues and escalate complex problems to senior engineers when required.
- Assist with database and system administration activities that support operational continuity.
- Perform routine maintenance and patching activities to maintain system health and security compliance.
- Support deployment preparation, testing, and verification activities to ensure safe implementation of changes.
- Maintain operational documentation, including runbooks, configurations, and process records.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and support teams during production support and incident management activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by learning and applying operational best practices.
What We're Looking For
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in platform operations, system administration, technical support, or a related IT environment.
- Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of certifications and practical experience.
- Foundational understanding of platform operations, deployment processes, and system administration.
- Basic knowledge of incident management, monitoring, alert investigation, and escalation procedures.
- Understanding of change management principles and deployment safety practices.
- Familiarity with operating systems, server administration, and system health monitoring.
- Exposure to command-line interfaces, basic SQL queries, monitoring platforms, and deployment tools.
- Understanding of configuration management, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud technologies at a foundational level.
- Strong problem-solving ability with a willingness to learn from experienced engineers.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- A proactive attitude toward learning, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
